Deployment Model

|
| Centralized Deployment | |
In a centralized deployment, all client access the same virtual server hosted centrally over a WAN network.
| | | On line mode | | In an always online mode, client needs to have a dedicated connection to the server for all transaction capabilities. | | Dual mode | |
In a centralized always online mode of deployment, the transaction capabilities of the system is heavily dependent on reliable network availability. The dual mode deployment architecture enable client to have a store-and-forward capabilities so that users can perform critical transaction even when the online system is not available. Thus dual mode deployment brings all benefits of an online centralized access without need for a dedicated local server at client and still provides offline transaction capabilities.
Store-and-forward is a mode of processing that enables users who are disconnected from a server to enter transactions, and then later connect to the server to upload those transactions.
| | For example | | | If connectivity is lost at a billing counter, user is still able to generate bill in disconnected mode and upload the bill at a later date when connectivity resumes. | | |
Sales people on the road who use laptops can process transactions and then upload those transactions to the server at a later date.
|
| | Decentralized Deployment | | In a Decentralized Deployment, each physical location has a dedicated server with clients connected over LAN. This server in turn can be connected to a centralized server for data consolidation. | | | Replication | |
In a decentralized mode, all transaction data resides on local server. Data consolidation on a centralized server is required for analytics, reporting and monitoring.
Replication feature enables copying of data to the central server and consolidating into a single instance.
|
| | Client Versions | | Excellon products are available in multiple client versions providing coverage on diverse platform. | | | Smart Client | | Smart client specifically designed to work on low bandwidth and unreliable network condition with true windows experience over web. | | Mobile Client | | Interactive form based client that works on windows mobile based devices providing rich interactive reports, analytics and transactions capabilities. | | Web Client | |
A browser based client that works on multiple browsers and operating system providing interactive web interface.
|
| | Interfacing Capability | | Excellon's product architecture and design lends itself well for custom extensions and integration with external systems with its Service Oriented Architecture and web services. | | It can be integrated with many OEM specific ERPs or other business systems using any of the following listed interfaces | | | Web Services | | Interface Tables | | Programmable API | |
Use of Third Party Middleware like BizTalk Server, SAP XI, net weaver etc.
